Isla Escape Cottage - Playa del Carmen & Playacar 
Playa del Carmen, just 20 miles north of Akumal, is known as a vibrant, multicultural fun place with European flavor. Famous attractions such as 5th Avenue running north to south, parallel to the seafront accommodates numerous restaurants, bars and souvenir, jewelry and fashion shops with affordable prices. Snorkelling, scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, kite surfing, sky diving, and parasailing are available. Calle 12 at 5th Av. offers a vibrant night life. There are boats departing from the beach to the diving sites along the Great Maya reef and ferry service to Cozomel. Playacar is a community near Playa del Carmen. It hosts 18 hole golf courses, 3 Maya sites, all-inclusive resorts, private homes, villas, condominiums, variety of shops and beaches. Many of these overlook golf courses. The Golf Club at Playacar has a driving range and clubhouse. Designed by Robert Von Hagge, its 18-hole, par-72 course is carved out of the surrounding jungle and built around exising cenotes.
